Behold the awesomeness of the Grace and Fury sequel! I love that Queen of Ruin‘s cover is red and bold, and I think it’ll look awesome with both the original Grace and Fury as well as the exclusive OwlCrate edition.

Also, a fun little tidbit! Most titles are created by committee…they’re often not what the author originally thought of. Like with Grace and Fury – my original title was something very different and changed multiple times throughout the revision and publication process (which is why some foreign editions are titled “Iron Flowers”! That was the original title when it sold! Personally, I LOVE the title Grace and Fury, and can’t imagine it being called anything else. When it came time to title the sequel, we all had a lot of trouble! Coming up with two equally powerful words: __ and __ : was difficult. As I was finishing the first draft, the title Queen of Ruin popped into my head. I sent it off to my editor, not expecting much (I’d already suggested quite a few titles at that point, most of which were, admittedly, TERRIBLE. Ha ha). And then I got the news! My editor and the LBYR team loved Queen of Ruin! Yay!

I hope YOU will love it, and the cover, and the BOOK, as much as I do. I’m really excited about this one – so much of Grace and Fury was about establishing this bleak, patriarchal world. Queen of Ruin is about tearing it all down.

Please add Queen of Ruin to your Goodreads TBR shelf! (But be careful, there are spoilers for G+F in the description!)

GRACE AND FURY has been in bookstores for a week now, and I still can’t believe it! What a thrill to see my fierce sisters staring out at me from the shelves! Family members and friends have been sending me pics of my girls in the wild all week and it’s the most incredible thing!

On Saturday afternoon, some very, very special folks came to Quail Ridge Books to help me celebrate my book baby’s launch, and it was the BEST. Kaitlyn Sage Patterson, author of THE DIMINISHED and all around spectacular human, hung out with me “on stage” as we talked about our different styles of world-building and how we both write about siblings and why we write and all that good stuff. She’s amazing. Go buy her book if you haven’t already.

There are now signed copies of GRACE AND FURY at Quail Ridge and the Southpoint and Crabtree Mall Barnes & Nobles if you’re in the Raleigh/Durham area!

If you’d prefer to have your copy personalized, or just want to come hang with me and some super cool authors, I have a few events coming up!

It’s hard to believe GRACE AND FURY comes out in the US on July 31st, even harder to wrap my head around the fact that the German edition is already on shelves! And the Italian edition is coming on May 29th! I don’t know if it’s common or not for foreign editions of books to publish before the US version, but it’s been a thrill to see the response from German readers. I’m so grateful to all of you for picking IRON FLOWERS up and for reviewing on Goodreads and Amazon!

We’re now just about two months from the US release and I have a lot of fun things coming up! If you haven’t signed up for my newsletter, now’s a good time! In the next few weeks I’ll be sharing some preorder incentives and super cool swag, and my newsletter subscribers will be the first to know all about it.

This summer I am honored to join Dhonielle Clayton and Zoraida Cordova for their Belles and Brujas tour! I’ll be joining them in St Louis, MO on Thursday, June 21 at 7pm. Read more about our specific event HERE and about the tour in general HERE. I hope if you live nearby you’ll come out and see us! Copies of GRACE AND FURY won’t be available yet, but I’ll be handing out some super fun swag and Dhonielle and Zoraida will be signing their books (which are incredible. If you haven’t yet, YOU SHOULD READ THEM.)

Another event to keep on your radar: The GRACE AND FURY launch party will be held at Quail Ridge Books in Raleigh, NC on Saturday August 4th at 2pm. Please come join the party! Click HERE for more info and to preorder a copy!

Hello my friends! In honor of GRACE AND FURY’s cover reveal (if you missed it, here’s the link to the reveal and Q&A), I decided to do a little revamping of my own. Huge, huge thanks to the incredible Hafsah at Icey Designs for creating this beautiful new web design, making it sparkle (literally!), and helping my web-challenged brain figure out how to actually USE the darn thing. I freaking LOVE it, especially the fact that it incorporates a photograph I took from my favorite place in the whole world. (Also, did I mention the sparkle??)

SO! To celebrate GRACE AND FURY’s beautiful cover, and my website’s beautiful new look, I want to give away the VERY FIRST advance copy of GRACE AND FURY. Signed, of course! (This contest is US only, sorry! Shipping is already so expensive from Hawaii.)

Here’s the dish on GRACE AND FURY:

In a world where women have no rights, sisters Serina and Nomi Tessaro face two very different fates: one in the palace, the other in prison.

Serina has been groomed her whole life to become a Grace–someone to stand by the heir to the throne as a shining, subjugated example of the perfect woman. But when her headstrong and rebellious younger sister, Nomi, catches the heir’s eye, it’s Serina who takes the fall for the dangerous secret that Nomi has been hiding.

Now trapped in a life she never wanted, Nomi has only one way to save Serina: surrender to her role as a Grace until she can use her position to release her sister. This is easier said than done. A traitor walks the halls of the palace, and deception lurks in every corner. But Serina is running out of time, imprisoned on an island where she must fight to the death to survive and one wrong move could cost her everything.

So, yeah. Lots of intrigue, secrets, fighting, romance, all set in a beautiful palace and a brutal volcanic island prison. And YOU can be the very first to read it (9 whole months early!)! Just enter below, and help me spread the word! Oh, and before you go, drop a comment and let me know what you think of the new website!
